My DAT/Minidisc only has an optical input. How do I connect it to the Samsung?

You need a Optical > Co-Ax converter. The only place I have found in the UK selling it happens to be a local hi-fi shop. The unit is called a Fostex Cop.1 and does Optical > Co-Ax and Co-Ax > Optical at the same time. 'Now That's Hi-Fi' is selling it for £59.95 and they will accept mail orders free of charge. Their address and details are:-

Can I connect the digital output to my DAT/Minidisc equipment?

Yes. The Samsung outputs the SCMS copy protection information as SCMS-Penultimate meaning you are allowed to make a 1 generation copy only. This is the standard for most CD players. This is the same for DVD's and CD's.

Remember if you are playing a film in Dolby Digital 5.1 you will need to change the output format to Dolby Digital otherwise the DAT/Minidisk will not be able to understand the format.

Where can I get cheap DVD's from?

The best place to start is the two price comparison sites for region 1 and region 2 CD's
